Mari Anne Wolff-Smith

Mari Anne Wolff-Smith was born October 9, 1965 to William Wolff and Shirley (Lange) Wolff; she passed away in Billings, MT on July 25, 2019. Mari Anne grew up in Lindsay, MT on her family's farm and ranch, Wolff & Sons. She attended the small rural school in Lindsay through eighth grade. She then attended Dawson County High School in Glendive where she was involved in drill team and graduated in 1984. She went on to pursue her dream by earning her Bachelor of Science from Montana State University in 1988. She married Keith Smith in 1990 and they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Kamryn, in 1994. Mari Anne worked many years in the healthcare industry in Missoula, Seattle, Salt Lake City, and Helena where her family eventually settled down. She went on to earn her Master in Nursing from Walden University in 2008. She enjoyed working as a registered nurse in many specialties and gained a passion for teaching the profession. She and Keith divorced in 2012. She moved to Billings from Helena shortly after to continue her career in healthcare and live closer to family. Mari Anne is remembered as a caring mother, daughter, and sister. She was affectionately known as “Sis” to her family and friends. She loved scrapbooking family memories, baking delicious treats, playing the piano, and reading a Nicholas Sparks novel in the sunshine. She is survived by the light of her life, her daughter Kamryn (Smith) Clairmont and husband Brice Clairmont, mother Shirley Wolff, younger brother Michael Wolff, sister-in-law Carol, and their three children Rachel, Shane and Owen, and youngest brother Jason Wolff. Also, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is welcomed into heaven by her father, Bill Wolff. A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
