Ellen Maxwell Hill

Our matriarch angel flew up to meet with God March 3, 2019, Ellen Shirley Maxwell Hill went to a higher place. She was born August 5, 1932 in Billings, Montana to Alice Shoop Maxwell and Harry Maxwell. She graduated from Billings Senior High and went to college and secretarial school. She worked for Hines Motor Supply, The Fifth Quarter and The Boys and Girls Club of Billings, upon retiring she moved to Bridger, Montana and raised llamas. She was a very active member of UMW where she held different positions, including President. She loved square dancing, knitting, spinning, fishing, bowling, her gardens, and she loved the outdoors where she would be any chance she could. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Alice Maxwell; brother, Ronald Maxwell; sister, Cynthia Ruth Maxwell; husband, Robert Hill; daughter, Gayle; and grandson, Craig Sullivan. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryle Lane; granddaughter, Lori Sullivan; great-grandkids, Reiley, Amanda, Cody, Ashleigh; adopted grandson, Bryce Mcfate of Bridger, Montana; grandson, Brian Sullivan of Big Fork, Montana. Her daughter, Janet Stokes of Laurel, Montana; grandson, Robert Eklund (Rande); great-grandkids, Kimry, Logan, Finley and Ava of Billings, Montana; grandson, Pablo Gonzalez (Alexandria); great-grandkids, Katelyn, Mason and Jason of Helena, Montana; granddaughter, Krystina Gonzalez; great grandsons Carter and Chase of Laurel, Montana. Her sisters, Lenore Kipp, Nancy Hill and Arleen Nafts (Mel) of Billings, Montana; Her brother, Clyde Maxwell (Sukie) of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will take place at Bridger Methodist Church 10:00 am Saturday March 9th 2019 with reception to follow at 11:00 at the church. In lieu of flowers we suggest donations to the Bridger United Methodist Church.
