Veryl Ann (Schmidt) Boeckel, 74, of Hardin, MT passed away peacefully on December 2, 2018. She was born May 19, 1944 in Redfield, SD, the daughter of August and Marilyn Schmidt. Veryl Ann graduated from Redfield High School in 1962 and attended Presentation School of Nursing in Aberdeen, SD, graduating in spring of 1965. She was 12th out of 200 who had taken state boards with her and 5th in her class. Her first job was at Deaconess Hospital in Billings, MT where she met her love and soul mate. On November 5, 1966 she married Floyd D. Boeckel and they resided in St. Xavier and then Hardin. They had three daughters, Carrie, Kathie and Susan. Through her nursing career she served as a nurse at Big Horn County Hospital and Director of Nursing at BHC nursing home and Heritage Acres. Veryl Ann was a member of Our Redeemer Church in Hardin. She served as youth group leader, ladies aide member and helped with the church financial books. Faith and family always came first. She enjoyed cooking, canning and quilting in her later years. Veryl Ann was preceded in death by her father August and grandson, Nicholas Shick. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Floyd; mother, Marilyn Schmidt; daughters Carrie Shick, Kathie (Brian) O'Dell, Susan (Gary) Bartlett; grandchildren Bradley Shick, Tyler Shick, Brandon O'Dell, Kaylee O'Dell, Melinda McDonald, Christopher Bartlett, Kathrine Bartlett and special daughter/friend Candace Edwards; great-granddaughter Emily Shick; brothers Kendall (Marie) Schmidt, Ronald (Alice) Schmidt, sister-in-law Freda Aman; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be 7:00 to 8:30 pm Thursday at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Friday, December 7, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hardin with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Memories may be shared at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com

This lady and I worked together many shifts. I loved working by her side, we had fun , laughes, and worked well together. We would cook our different foods and share, she loved to cook. She had the love for nursing, we sat and watched each other's kids grow and always heard stories of the kids. Her kids can be proud. Our prayers to her family. ve fir nusing

I first met Veryl Ann when Floyd brought her to the Boeckel place south of St.X. for a Sunday dinner. She was so nice and so in love with Floyd. Later I babysat the two oldest girls when they lived in their little trailer. Many years later I worked with Susan at the BHCNH and we became friends. Prayers and hugs for Floyd, the girls and the entire family.

I was sorry to read about the loss of your dear loved one. The bible gives us hope of seeing them again in the promised resurrection to come according to scriptures such as [John 5:28-29] and [Acts 24:15]. We find further hope in scriptures like [Isaiah 25:8] and [Revelations 21;3-5] which says in part that Jehovah God will wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more, because God will swallow up death forever. I hope these scriptures will be of some comfort. My Sincere Condolences.

I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. I hope you find strength and comfort in Jesus promises of the earthly resurrection (Acts 24;15 and the renewed Paradise earth, where death will be no more and no family will have to mourn the death of a loved one ever again. May God grant yo peace and comfort now during this very difficult time.
