Fred Hilario,

Fred Hilario Jr, age 71, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Tuesday morning October 2, 2018 in his Billings home. Fred was born on November 15, 1946 in Billings, the son of Fred Sr and Anita Hilario. He attended grade school in Billings, high school at Billings Central and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1965. Soon thereafter Fred enlisted in the US Air Force where he proudly served his country for 8 years. After retiring from the Service, he moved back to Billings and began his career with the US Postal Service. On March 9, 1974, Fred married the love of his life, Judy Silbernagel, and together they had three children, Sunny Lynn, Amy and Zeth Hilario. Fred worked as a mail handler until retirement January of 2006. Fred had a passion for horse racing, football, and hunting/fishing as a younger man. If not at home with his family, Fred could be found at the race track or somewhere with a simulcast of the next big race. For someone who never rode an actual horse, he sure seemed to know more about them than the trainer or even the jockey riding them! Anyone who knew Fred knew a man with a very big heart, a quick wit, a hearty laugh and a helping hand (as long as it didn't include physical labor). He enjoyed life, loved his family and friends, and lived life to its fullest! Fred was preceded in death by his mother Anita Hilario. He is survived by his wife Judy; his daughters Sunny Lynn and Amy; his son Zeth and step-son Steve (Lynn) Tucker; his grandchildren Madison, Jaxon, Braydon, Zoey, Angel, Julie, Shelby, Haley, Bailey, and Mariah. Also surviving are his father Fred Sr, brother Andy (Denise) Hilario, and sister Mary Hilario. He also has countless other surviving family members who called him uncle, cousin, nephew, brother-in-law, or son-in-law and will certainly be missed by all. Services honoring Fred will be held at St. Pius X Church at 11am on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Reception will follow at the Church.
