Jay Baker,

Jay Michael Baker, Sr. left this world on Monday January 29, 2018 to join his brother playing ball in the clouds. Jay left far too soon and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Jay was born in Pittsfield, MA to Kenneth and Janet Baker on June 18, 1956. As the middle child of seven kids Jay was a self-proclaimed black sheep but was always there for his family. Jay was a devoted brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. From being in rodeos, serving in the US Air Force, to raising his kids and helping with his grandkids, Jay knew how to live life to the fullest. We will all have fond memories of softball games, family football games, star trek moments and epic Risk or video game battles. To say he was a Boston Red Sox and Patriots fan does not even scratch the surface of his dedication to Red Sox Nation or the Patriots. Jay lived every day as an adventure; he loved to make people smile and laugh. He could be serious when needed but enjoyed being the life of the party. In his later years, his true enjoyment lay in spending time with his grandchildren. Jay is survived by his children, Katrina (Dallas) Sluder, Jay Baker, Jason (Courtney) Baker, Karisa (Dean) Boyington) and Cassandra Sisk; 13 grandchildren; ex-wife, Kathy Haigh; mother, Janet; brothers, Kenneth and Kerry; and sisters Jan, Karyn, and Jackie. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, and brother, Joel. We know he will be sitting on the Green Monster- cheering on the Sox, drinking a beer, and reminiscing about the good old days. “Anything is possible… I'm ready to start the adventure.” – Jackie Bradley Jr (Boston Red Sox player).
