Jean Stevens

Jean Randall Stevens, 66, of Billings MT (Miles City, MT) went to rest on January 27, 2018. She passed away at home with many family members and friends during her final hours. Jean worked many different jobs during her life, she owned her own Pizza Hut (not the franchise), she was an Office Manager, Insurance Agent, and “Miss Montana” for Park Lane Jewelry. But above all else she was a loving wife and mother. She took more pride in her family than in anything else. She was told so often about what she couldn't do over and over again from Doctors, including not being able to have kids, and after not being able to see them grow up, that she felt a lot of joy from proving them wrong and not only accomplishing that but being able to see and get to know many grandkids. Jeans hobbies were embroidering, gardening, reading, and her family. Jean took stock in quality of life differently than most, she didn't care about vacations, possessions, or too many material things. Mom valued her family and being able to see them grow up. Everyone perceives “quality of life” differently, and for mom it was surviving long enough to enjoy kids, grandkids, and a loving husband. Jean always worked so hard for her family, even at the expense of herself. Then she met the love of her life and he allowed her to relax, stay home, and concentrate on herself a bit. She was so loving that she became the unofficial “Grandma” of the neighborhood! Kids would show up on her door step and she hadn't even met them or their parents. But she would bring them in and give them snacks, even to this day she's still “Grandma”, even though they are grown and raised. She was a constant fighter and always surprised everyone with her smile and laughter. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Archie and Margie Randall. She is survived by her husband, Dan Stevens, her 4 kids, Sherman Kirby (Erin Kirby), Chad Kirby (Julie Kirby, Lisa Taskila), Jarrett Kirby, and Justin Stevens. Also, her brothers Robert, Steven, Archie Ray, and her sister Judy. Additionally, many grand kids and friends. A reflection of her life will be held at Dahl Funeral Home at 10 Yellowstone Ave, Billings, MT on Monday February 5th at 11:00 am, with burial services following at Mountview Cemetery, then a luncheon afterwards again at Dahl Funeral home.
