Obituary
Mardel passed away peacefully Sunday evening, March 26, 2017. She was born on July 31, 1952 to Elsie and Kenneth Gedrose of Sidney, MT. Punky worked and lived in Billings for many years, most notably as a caregiver for A+. She enjoyed BINGO and being with friends. She was always thoughtful and wrote cards to family and friends for all occasions. She lived between Belgrade, MT and Bismarck, ND. and her place was affectionately known as Punky's Pit Stop. Punky is survived by 6 siblings and their families including nieces and nephews that she absolutely adored. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Brian Schnitzer and staff, who took such good care of our sister over these years. We wish him a happy retirement. Dahl Funeral Chapel is in charge of cremation arrangements and a family service will be held later this summer as her wish was to be buried in Sidney, MT.

Mardell was a great person and caregiver to our mother. I knew her for many years and kept in contact. We would have lunch whenever I was in Billings. I will miss seeing her. She always let me know how her family was doing and when she went on trips to visit. I will remember her always. Pat Wagner

Mardel-i will never forget my childhood memories of going with you and my Aunt Sharon to yard sales and the dollar store. Or when I worked at the bingo hall and learned of your love for the game. Or driving down Broadwater so many times and honking and waving at you while you waited for the bus. I've known you a long time, & passed by you many times. And now that you pass on, I wish you all the joys of the universe. You are an upbeat and unique soul that nobody could ever forget.

My first cousin Punky. I have fond childhood memories of her. I loved getting her cards in the mail. She always wore a big smile when ever I saw her and laughter was close at hand. Though small in stature she had a huge kind and loving heart that gave so much. She touched many lives in so many ways. Keep smiling sweetie. Go in Peace. Mardel, the years have passed since I've last seen you but I'd always keep up with how you were doing by talking to your momma when I visited in Sidney. It almost seems like yesterday when I'd save you a seat on "Charley Houchens" old school bus by the heaters so we could keep warm on the way to school during the winter months. We were the best of school classmates and trouble followed us because we were 2 peas in a pod. Thanks for always being there for me! Your kindness, acceptance and love along with your attitude about life showed up in your smile and laughter. You'll always be Punky Spunky to me. We cried and we laughed but you made the memories great for me at SSH School. Rest in Peace my dear sweet friend. Tony, Cindy (Monkey Woman, as Punky would call you on the bus) Butch and David, my heart felt sympathy and prayers goes out to you all.
