John Van Cleave

John Alvin Van Cleave, 80, of Billings, passed away November 1, 2015 at his home. He was born August 12, 1935 in Hettinger, North Dakota, the son of Zeddie Earl and Florence (Palmer) Van Cleave. He married Wilma Hieb on January 5, 1973 in Pierre, South Dakota. John enlisted in the Marines and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1957. He worked as a truck driver. John is survived by his children Lori Dougherty of Canby, OR, LeAnn Ingle, Gerald Van Cleave, Walter Hieb, all of Billings; sisters Joyce Hanson, Carol Tishmack; brother Everett “Bud” Van Cleave; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma, parents, and several brothers and sisters. Private family services will be held.
