Obituary
Kenneth D. Smith, Jr., 70, passed away at home in Billings on November 30, 2015, after a long struggle with mesothelioma. His loving wife, Diane, was at his side through it all. The son of Kenneth D. and Clare Smith, Kenny was born and raised in Miles City, MT. He is survived by his wife and his sister, along with her family. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 at St Patrick Co-Cathedral with Father John Houlihan officiating. Inurnment will follow in Yellowstone National Cemetery with full military honors.

My uncle Kenny passed away. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him, but the times I did spend with him were very memorable. He was super intelligent and he didn't talk down to anyone. He was a true "cool dude". He was loved by all who knew him. He will be missed. We all love you Uncle Kenny.

Diane, We were so sorry to hear of Kenny's passing. He fought a long hard battle against this terrible disease. I was so glad you guys made it to our house for the reunion. I know everyone was happy to see him. Bless your heart for taking such good care of him and may he now rest

Ken Smith was one of my oldest friends. We first met about 55 years ago, went through high school together, lived on the same street, near Wibaux Park, and stayed in touch over the years. I was happy to see him and DIane this past fall, just as Ken was entering hospice. His spirits were upbeat in the midst of suffering. The way he left this world became him greatly, showing him as true Montana man. R.I.P. John Brown, class of '63, CCHS
