Adrian Goes Ahead Pretty

Adrian Gabriel Goes Ahead Pretty was born on June 7, 1984, to Carlson “Dukey” Goes Ahead and Orvilene “Monk” Rondeaux and departed from this life on April 14, 2015. He was adopted by his grandparents, Sylvester Cartie and Ruby Iron Goes Ahead. His grandfather gave him the Indian name “Red Earth” (Awe' Hi'sshe) after his great-great grandfather Goes Ahead Pretty. He's a member of the Big Lodge Clan and a child of the Ties in the Bundle Clan. He was raised in Pryor, MT, and attended both the Pentecostal and Catholic churches. He graduated 8th grade in 1998 from St. Charles Mission School, attended Plenty Coups High School and eventually obtained his General Equivalency Diploma (GED) while a student at Little Big Horn College. He went on to school at Montana State University-Bozeman. While in high school he played basketball and football. Adrian lived in Bozeman for several years and Ronan and worked in the construction business. He moved to Newtown, ND, September 2014, to work in the oil fields and became a ranch hand for Ted and Sherrie Lone Fight, who adopted him as a son. Adrian was a boxer and fought in several boxing competitions. His favorite sport was football. He rode, broke and trained horses. He practiced his Crow culture and traditions and loved to sing as a pow-wow singer and participated in Indian religion ceremonies. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and grandfather, Orville Rondeaux; and uncle, Myron Goes Ahead. He is survived by his parents, Carlson (Ginger) Goes Ahead and Orvilene Rondeaux; his children, Levonne Ruby Jeanne and Ke'Shawn Cartie Francis; partner, Alexis Bell; brothers, Larry Lee (Heather) Rondeaux and Judah Goes Ahead; sisters, Zarah, Lenita and Rheanna (Kevin Yazzie) Goes Ahead; his nephews, Clark'el “Tuffy” and Tyson Rondeaux and Brayden Yazzie; nieces, McKynzii and Vivian Plainbull, Arabella and Cereignity Yazzie, and Cheyenne Rondeaux. His uncles, Dana (Karen) and Elias Goes Ahead, and Rodney Rondeaux; Aunts, Rev. Rhea Goes Ahead, Marilyn (Rev. Jay) Simpson, Mary Liz Rondeaux, Rhonda and Robin Caufield. His grandparents Rod and Betty Caufield, Agnes (Larry) Pretty Weasel, Regina Goes Ahead, Charles De Crane, Charlene Laverdure, Iola Iron, Sylvia Moss, Tela Rondeaux and Jimmy (Jean) Tushka; great-grandparents, John Pretty on Top and Jewel Medicine Horse. His extended relatives are Goes Ahead, Decrane, Rondeaux, Caufield, Iron, Brass, Walks Over Ice, Black Hawk, Yellowmule, Otter Stays in Water, Hunts the Arrow, Red Wolf, Lion Shows, Rock Above, Plainbull, Big Hail, Old Crane, Wall, House, Big Medicine, Jefferson, Charges Strong-Wilson, Morrison, Hugs, Big Lake, Small, One Goose, Pretty on Top, Bravo, Door, Big Shoulder, Holds the Enemy, Tushka and Plenty Hawk. Visitation 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday with a Vigil Service at 6 p.m. in the Dahl Funeral Chapel and funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Pryor Plenty Coups High School Gymnasium. Burial to follow at the Goes Ahead Cemetery. Dahl Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
