Zachary Ray “Bubs “ Wyles, Jr., was the light of his family's life and everybody he came into contact with after that blessed day he was born, on April 22, 2013, knew that he was special. In the hospital, he sat bundled, calm and stoic like a tiny 10 lb Indian Chief. We felt like the collective wisdom of his deceased great-great grandparents had been gifted to him before his arrival. He was rough and tumble, an adventurous little explorer whose favorite toys were trucks and balls. While he was still crawling, one of his favorite games was to sit on the floor and play catch and throw the ball back. He would smile with glee. Bubs had a love of the outdoors which became evident as soon as he began to walk. He would walk to the sliding glass doors and look outside until somebody would take him out to play—and he did play hard. He loved to help Grandma Pam in the garden and would play intently in the backyard for hours. He was an expert at dead-heading pansies. But don't let his love for gardening fool you--Bubs was all boy, through and through. He was especially fond of throwing rocks into the River and the pond behind his Papa and Nana's house. By the age of 18 months, he had an amazing arm and a very strong throw. He loved to be in the water from the day he was born. His Mama would bathe him and he would fall asleep in her arms. Bubs was happy to be alive and every day he woke with a smile. The way to his heart was often through his stomach and he loved to help in the kitchen. One of his favorite words was “cookie”. After eating, the highlight of his day was going bye-bye, especially when it was time to pick up his big brother from school—because he knew that his favorite playmate was coming home to play with him. Bubs was also a big fan of music and dancing, but his love for sports was SO strong that he would sit with his family and watch an entire game, laying on the ottoman with his head propped on his tiny hands, yelling “Go-Go-Go!” The Denver Broncos was his favorite team and he always sported the latest Broncos gear. What Bubs loved most of all, were his brothers—and they returned that love in abundance. His big brother Chris, age six, wanted it to be known that, “Bubs was really special to me and nobody can ever replace him because he was my best friend and brother. Bubs was priceless.” And priceless he was. From his untamed mane of ringlet curls, to the twinkle in his eye. He smiled the most disarming grin when he knew he was getting away with something he shouldn't be doing--and he would smile that mischievous grin with his binkie in his mouth and remarkably, all would be forgiven. Bubs was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nikki Jean Kukowski, great-grandmother, Virjama Wyles great-grandmother, Betty Jean Kukowski. He was survived by his parents Zachary, Sr. and Aleada Wyles, big brother Christopher Ray Wyles and his baby brother Jax Thomas Wyles, his grandfathers, Kenny Wyles and Michael Ryan, grandmother, Pamela John, great-grandparents, Kenneth R. & Karen Y. Brown, aunt, Brittney Wyles, great-aunt Vicki Eubank (Jeff) and uncles Ken Wyles Jr, Tevin Young (Rosena Bulltail), Jeremy Wyles (Candace), and Skylar Littlelight. Also a large and loving extended family including numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Rest in Peace, our little cherub. You always felt a little bit too special for this world. We miss you deeply, but will carry a shrine for you, in our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Dahl Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
