Obituary

Sharon Elizabeth Whiteman Canfield Raab passed away from cancer at her home on January 27, 2015. Sharon was born to Dewey and Betty Whiteman on September 16, 1945 in Fairview, MT. She was raised on the homestead just north of Richey, Montana with her siblings Dean, Peggy and Janice. It was there that the importance of hard work and family values were installed in her. She then married and had two children, Ronda and Cyrena, and took the huge step to live in Seattle. She stayed there until 1983 when she came back to Montana and lived in Great Falls and then eventually settling in Billings, where she lived out her life. She loved Billings and the music it had to offer, from Sunday mornings with the Lonnie Bell show to live country at the VFW. Besides a good two step, she loved to collect bells and pictures of the grandkids. She had a deep love of animals and donated to several charities. Sharon is survived by her two children, Ronda (Canfield) Smith & Cyrena Canfield; son-in-law, William Smith; grandchildren, Allyson Krenke, Allyssa (Krenke) & Paul Cecil, Ashlynn (Krenke) & Ross Lavsa, Allayna Smith, George Boone Tullett and Hannah Tullett. She also leaves behind 11 beautiful great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Betty Whiteman; brother, Dean Whiteman; and sisters, Peggy Ganzeveld and Janice Louser. Sharon will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Visitation will be Sunday 1pm – 3pm with funeral services Monday at 9 am, both will be held at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 1 pm on Tuesday in Richey Cemetery in Richey, MT.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to you. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are never alone. Turn to the Holy Scriptures for guidance and to help soothe your heart. Psalms 34:18 assures us that God is near to those broken at heart and crushed in spirit. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Ronda and family...please know that you all are in our thoughts during this sad time. Allow the beautiful and happy memories that you have, see you through this. Take the time to heal, but know that she is finally at peace and no longer suffering. That will help you to come to terms with things a bit easier. If you need me, i am always...always, here for you. See you when you come home

Family...our sympathy to all of you on Sharon's passing. Sharing life in Richey gave us an appreciation for each other! Sharon was always so pleasant and looked at the good side of life, even through difficult times in her life. It was fun to see her off and on in the later years and see the kids and grandkids during Richey Reunion times. We are praying for God's special comfort to you. His tender love and grace will bring joy and peace. Take good care of each other.
