Obituary
Lou Burt passed away April 12, 2014 at his home in Huntley at the age of 67, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on July 19, 1946 to Lou Sr. and Arneldous Burt, in Needles, CA. Lou married the love of his life and best friend, Michele, on October 26, 1968. As Lou always said, “she molded him into the man he was”. Lou and his daughter had the privilege of sharing a very special relationship. In his own words, “his daughter was the greatest accomplishment in his life.” Lou was an avid outdoorsman who loved gardening, fishing, hunting and the New England Patriots, but his greatest love was his family. He went to work at the City of Billings, Wastewater Treatment Plant in 1993 and retired in 2010. He was highly respected by many friends and co-workers. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends but especially by his daughter and wife. He was preceded in death by his sisters Gloria, Judy and Delorees. He is survived by his wife Michele, daughter Bridgette, sons-in-law Dale Heil, Dean Swanke, 6 grandchildren: Nicole, Danielle, Jordan, Devon, Garrett, Ciera, 5 great-grandchildren and his 4 legged best friend Brady. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel and memories may be shared with the family at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com

Louie was amazing man that was extremely selfless in nature. He helped my grandparents (Lou and Harold Grosskop) more times that I will ever know. He was a good neighbor to them and embraced me the same way as a I moved back here with my wife, Allison in 2008. Even when his health was not good, he continued to help whenever he saw I needed it. I will truly miss him and I will be forever thankful for the impact he has had on my life.

I had the honor of working with Lou for ten years at the wastewater treatment plant. Over the years he shared with me his asparagus hunting grounds, the perfect prime rib recipe, wonderful pictures of his youngest grandbaby, stories of his beloved wife, Michele, and most of all, his kindness.

Dear Michele and Bridgette, So sorry for your loss. Oddly enough I was just thinking of Little Louie the day that I found out he had passed away. We didn't see our cousin because of distance but I have such fond memories of visiting the Burts in Banning and their trips to Illinois. He was a good man and very family oriented. He shall be missed by his McVary cousins.
