Lorna Casey

Lorna L Casey, 93, was born in ND on February 6, 1924 and died on April 17, 2017 in Billings, MT. She was the second of ten children born to Marion L. and Laura E. Timmreck. She grew up on a farm near Alexander N.D. She lived through the depression era and life was sometimes harsh. Family ties became important to her early on. She was saddened when her four year old brother died. She attended Williston High School and graduated at the top of her class in 1943. She married Joseph T. Casey on January 12, 1945 in Alexander, North Dakota. Of this union six children were born, LaDonna, (Dan Ganje), LaRayne (Peter Riedel), Joe Dennis (Vonnie), Sheila (Greg Szudera),Darrell (Rose), and Matthew (Karen). After moving to Billings, Montana in 1955 Lorna began working as a legal secretary for Felt,Felt and Burnett law firm and worked in several law firms for more than 40 years. She was an avid reader, her favorite authors were Nicholas Sparks and Catherine Marshal. She also loved walking and music. She enjoyed the Lawrence Welk show, the Irish Tenors, Joe Feeney and Danny O'Donnell. Lorna was a devout member of Holy Rosary and St. Pius X Catholic Churches. Her faith was her strength and hope. In 2012 she moved to West Park Village where she cultivated many friendships. She especially enjoyed the music entertainment and companionship of many residents. Her constant companion for 13 years was Callie the cat. She referred to Callie as her "baby girl". Callie was with her in the final hours. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Casey, her parents, sister, Gloria Barrett, brothers, Gerald, Keith and Ronald and her granddaughter Katherine Ganje. She is survived by her sisters Betty Sheppard , Lois Timmreck, Mildred Lee, Nina Carson and Marlene Keever; her six children; 26 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Rosary at 6:30 P.M. and Vigil at 7 P.M. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11A.M. Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
