Dallas Hat

Dallas Bird Hat (BAAPAAMMAATCHAACHE ) Good Plant, 75, of Pryor passed away Saturday, March 10, at Heritage Acres in Hardin. He was a descendent of Chief Bell Rock, a member of Ties the Bundle Clan and Ties the Bundle child. He was born March 4, 1938 in Crow Agency, MT, the son of Sampson Bird Hat and Cecelia Other Black Bird. Dallas was a very spiritual and prayer oriented person. He put up many Native American Church meetings for his family members. He participated in seven Sundance ceremonies. In his younger days he attended Baptist Church, Pentecostal Church and Catholic Church. He was very active in the Native American Church and the spiritual sweat lodge. He loved being a Parade Marshall for the Crow gatherings and parades. Dallas worked for the Carpet Mills for many years. He was a police officer for the Crow Tribe. He was the custodian for the Pryor Headstart program when it got underway. He fought fires as a Montana Indian Firefighter and Fish and Game department. Dallas loved horses and he loved to buy cars. Of all of his many horses, he loved Penny Showers the most. He and his brother enjoyed playing Bingo. He was a true Plenty Coups Warriors fan. He attended Edgar grade school, St. Charles Mission and Pryor Public Schools. Dallas was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Steven and Edward Bird Hat; sisters Irene and Zora Bird Hat, Gladys DeCrane. Dallas is survived by his brother Chester (Ethel) Bird Hat; sisters Fern (Andrew) Littlelight, Roselee Turnsback, Emma Tillie, Nancy and Florence Bird Hat, Clara Biglake, Verena Costa, Rebecka Stovall; adopted brother Robert Flatlip; adopted children Lana Gutierrez, Aritha (Cody) Hogan, Melvin (Spring) Bird Hat, Pamela, Cammy, Mesha (R Jon) Nomee, Jordell Blackwolf, Sidney (Carla) DeCrane, Makalya Goes Ahead, Roslyn GoodLuck, Lawrence (Martha) DeCrane; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren; adopted family Peshlakia and Morris of Indian Wells, AZ. Extended family includes Plain Feather, House, He Does It, Not Afraid, Real Bird, Moccasin, Flatmouth, Smells, Bird, Plain Bull, Big Hair, Little Owl, Bellrock, Other Blackbird, Bad Bear, Old Crow. Service: Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday with the Vigil Service starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Mission and interment in the Bird Hat Family Cemetery in Pryor.
