William Rides Horse,

William Rides Horse, Sr. passed away on February 4, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1940 at Crow Agency, Montana to Augustine Costa and Elsie Alice Rideshorse Bellrock. His Indian name was Alagoodah (Rainbow). William participated in hand games and was a very talented singer. He was a very spiritual, considerate and compassionate man. As a young man he participated in rodeos riding saddle bronc and bareback and loved to hunt the Pryor Mountains. He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. William was a Game Warden for 17 years and worked for the Crow Tribal Law Enforcement for several years. William is survived by his Sons: William T. Rides Horse, Jr. (Erykah C. & William T. Rides Horse III), Jason (Ray) Whitehip, Edmond (Williamina) Old Crow (Kyler & Kailyn), Bill Big Day, Myron (Kayleen) Little Light. Daughters: Willow Greenough (Mikel Shag & Trey) and Cecilia Mae Stands Over Bull. Sisters: Charlotte (Gary) Martell, Grace Kallum, Emma(Owen) Richardson, Julie Ann Bellrock (Dominic), Sherry, Susan & Cheryl Rides Horse, Ursula (Barry) Russell & Michelle Bien. Brothers: Gordon (Jacquelyn) Plain Bull, Stanley (Sarah) Rides Horse. Aunts: Margaret Bighead and Leona Rides Horse. He was preceded in death by his wife Laura Mae Stands Over Bull, sons, Henry Lewis Rides Horse, Tyrone Lee Kniffen; brothers, Stanley & Llewlyn Bellrock, sister, Melissa Bellrock-Lopez. Grandparents, Stanley Rides Horse, Emma Buffalo Coat Rides Horse, Amy Chief Stick & Elizabeth Smart Enemy also numerous nieces, nephews & grandchildren. His extended family: Costa, BigLake, CoversUp, Bull Horse, Takes Enemy, Singer, Old Horn, Real Birds, Stewarts, Picketts, House, Red Star, Raining Birds, Topsky, Chief Sticks, Little Lights, Capletts, Crooked Arms, Howe & Old Coyotes, White Hip. Please accept our apologies if we missed any of the family members due to the extended large family. Service: A vigil will be held on Monday, 7:00 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings. Funeral services will be held at St. Charles Mission, Tuesday, February 7, at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow in Pryor Cemetery.
