James Ralph Huck

Loving husband, father and grandfather, James "Jim" Ralph Huck, age 76, passed away on the evening of October 8, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana. His smile, sense of humor and kind nature will be missed terribly by those who love him.James was born on May 15, 1934 to Phillip C. Huck and Elizabeth (Dukart) Huck in Belfield, North Dakota. Jim married Hildegarde Catherine (Frank) Huck on June 20, 1955 in Gaylord, North Dakota. For fifty-five years, our dad took care of the love of his life-Hilda. They spent all their time together travelling to see family and friends, playing games, Bonco and cards, and visiting with those they love.Jim set the best example a father ever could for his twelve children. He worked hard his whole life to take care of those he loved. He never faltered in his commitments. His careers were many and spanned decades. He taught school, worked for the city of Billings for 20 years, worked at Holy Rosary Parish and built two entrepreneurial businesses-Huck's Lawn Service and Huck's Repair Service. He truly loved, more than anything, working in his repair shop. He also spent many years serving Holy Rosary Parish doing volunteer work.Jim was an amazing and loving father to his twelve children, and he adored his twenty-eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He taught his family the value of hard work and enduring love. He was kind and generous and always took time to visit with everyone who stopped by-his favorite past-time was chatting with everyone that he knew and telling his favorite jokes over and over again.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his first-born son, Rodney James Huck, two brothers, two step-brothers, and his darling great grandchild, Cloee Olivia Huck.Jim is survived by his wife Hilda, his twelve children, Ardan (Renee) Huck, Jeffrey (Stacey) Huck, Clayton (Kathy) Huck, Gerard (Bonnie) Huck, Geralyn (Jason) Hill, Susan (Robert) Majerus, Scott (Anna) Huck, Mary (Rick) Meron, Jeremy (Brenda) Huck, Dale Huck, Kelly (Brian) Zarbock, Rebecca Huck, twenty-eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three brothers, four sisters, a step-brother, a step-sister and numerous nieces and nephews.The vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 and the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 14, 2010, both at Holy Rosary Church.Memorials in Jim's name can be sent to Saint Vincent DePaul Society, 2610 Montana Ave., Billings, MT 59101; Special K Ranch, 34 Special K Lane, Columbus, MT 59019, or charity of your choice.
