Pauline Eckroth ‘Polly’

At the age of 89, our beloved mother, Polly Eckroth died at home with family at her side on Saturday, August 14, 2010. Polly was born July 9, 1921 in Glendive, MT the daughter of Joe and Regina (Grasl) Kathrein. Polly graduated from Dawson High School in 1940 and attended Dawson Community College. She began working for Northern Pacific RY in 1941 transferred to Billings in 1947. It was here she met Peter Eckroth and on April 16, 1951 they were united in marriage. Polly continued working until 1952, at which time she became a fulltime Mom with the birth of their son Robert and 5 years later, their daughter Mary Lynne.In 1970, Polly re-entered the workforce as a Burlington Northern CU manager, retiring the end of 1987. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Vincent HealthCare until 2008.Polly was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Peter; brother, Joseph Kathrein; sister Elizabeth Smith. She leaves behind her children Robert and Mary Lynne; brother, Richard (Marilyn) Kathrein; sisters-in-law: Muriel Kathrein, Betty Eckroth, Nedra Eckroth; sister-in-law Jeannie (Bill) Boehm.Cremation will take place. A Memorial Mass for Polly will be Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
