I work at Billings Logan Airport. Wally was an Information/RSVP Volunteer on Wednesdays for over six years. I would visit with him for about 20 minutes during his four hour shift and really enjoyed these times. His war was WWII while mine was Vietnam. Tom Brokaw had it right, Wally was part of the "Greatest Generation." He had an incredible sense of humor and great stories of his days in NYC with Pan Am, etc. He was extremely helpful with the traveling public and his patience was noteworthy. I am richer for my time spent with him and really miss my "Wednesdays with Wally." Thank you for sharing him with all of us at the airport. We miss him as you do. Sincerely, Steve Bigelow

Wally was a truly great guy and he will be missed. He was a down to earth person with a great sense of humor. His talent for organization and responsibility was evident in his brilliant career. Wally, rest in peace and thanks for your influence and laughter you gave to our lives. Jac (cousin) and Don Larson, Stone Mountain, Georgia

This is Jalene, Rod Kastelitz’s wife. I met Wally when he first moved back to Billings in 2000 and saw him only occasionally over the years at family events. But I’m grateful to have gotten the chance to know Wally better when I helped him with his condo last Summer/Fall. Wally was a true gentleman in every sense of the word…kind, considerate and genteel. I was always fascinated with the stories of his past career and the places he lived and traveled to over his lifetime. What a fantastic life! He will be missed.
