Margaret Boschert Gear

Margaret Lewine Boschert was born July 7, 1918, in Ballantine, to Ernest and Edana Fenlon Boschert. She attended elementary school in Ballantine, two years at Huntley Project High School, one year at the Ursuline Academy and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1938. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., and graduated as a dental hygienist in 1940. She worked for eight years in Wisconsin in private and public schools as a hygienist for the schools.Lewine married Jack Gear on July 15, 1947, at St. Patricks Church in Billings. Soon after, she had two sons, Dennis Andrew Gear and Phillip Alva Gear. In the early 50s, she and Jack opened and owned Penguin Ice Cream Shop by the YMCA for several years. Later, she resumed her dental hygienist career and was a longtime employee of West Park Dental Group until retirement.Lewine was the kind of person a child, grandchild, family or friend was blessed to have in their life. She had an impeccable way of making someones entire day with a glass of iced tea, a listening ear, a warm smile and a kind, generous heart. She could always recall a story to share that would make a bad day good or a good day better. Her grandchildren are left with her warm loving ways in their hearts and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Lewine was a member of St. Patricks Church and the Elks Club.She is survived by her son, Phillip; grandchildren Dennis Shane Frizzell and Sara Berquist; god-grandchildren, Skyler Partin and Satari Partin; many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as a many close friends. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband; son Dennis; daughter-in-law Regina Reinhardt; brother Ernest Fenlon Boschert; sister-in-law Rosemary Boschert; and sister Sarah Boschert Switzer.A small celebration service in remembrance will be scheduled at a later time.
