Aurora Castro

Our beloved Aurora made her final journey to be with the lord after a long battle with many autoimmune diseases. Aurora passed away surrounded by her family and friends on the evening of October 7, 2019. Aurora was born on August 22, 1971 to Elizabeth “Nichie” and Roman Castro in Billings, Montana. She graduated from Senior High School in 1989. She then went on to receive a degree in language studies at MSUB. Aurora's personality was magnetic and anyone in her presence adored her. She was set in her ways with her fiery attitude and spunky sense of humor. Aurora enjoyed traveling on a whim; she never planned anything. She was a care-free spirited person who enjoyed meeting new people from all walks of life. Her favorite way to connect with others was through cooking, she fed anyone who walked into her home as she always had an open-door policy. Aurora loved to cook rich foods using exotic spices and experimenting with different recipes from many regions of Mexico. She had a deep appreciation for her culture, especially the music and food. Aurora loved to have big celebrations during the holidays, Christmas was her favorite. She often decorated early in November, sometimes sneaking decorations up before Halloween was over. Aurora could often be found planning her famous cookie parties where she would bake goods and make crafts with her families. Aurora loved her family unconditionally and she held her grandchildren close to her heart. She was strong in her faith and trusted in the Lord to help lead her in life. Aurora is survived by her parents, siblings, children and eleven grandchildren as well as many other family members. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, aunt, brother, son and other loved ones. Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Mary Queen of Peace with inurnment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
