Dale Wallace

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, unexpected passing of Dale Wallace, 65, of Everett, WA. At this time, we do not know the cause of death. Dale, along with his fraternal twin Bryan, was born on Oct. 20, 1959, to Miles and Beverly Wallace at Deaconess Hospital in Billings. He attended Broadwater and Highland Elementary Schools, Lewis and Clark Junior High, and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1978.

Dale was a natural born artist and technician. At age 16, he purchased a 1970 MG-B, and decided it needed to be repainted. He went to the public library, checked out books, studied automotive paint procedures, and ended up creating a professional quality paint job. He masterfully painted numerous cars, and was a talented and capable mechanic who could fix anything. He was adventurous, creative and never shied away from a big project of any kind.

Montana State University's mechanical engineering program was a good fit for Dale, and took him roughly six years to graduate, as he took every winter quarter off to ski at Bridger Bowl. He graduated in December of 1985 and spent his entire 38 year career working for Boeing, mostly at the Everett plant as a liaison engineer. He worked with the mechanics daily to solve assembly and design issues, and they appreciated working with him because he could speak their language from experience.

Dale loved skiing, motorcycles, collecting and working on cars, having beers and laughing with his friends and family, playing hacky sack and frisbee, playing chess with his roommate, Ramon, and most of all, spending time with his beloved German Shepherd, Lacey.

Dale was preceded in death by his father Miles, in 1996, and is survived by his mother, Bev, his brothers Kevin, Bryan, and Keith, his Aunt Suzi, numerous cousins and friends, and his beautiful dog, Lacey. We cannot begin to express how much he will be missed. His smile and laughter easily brightened the mood in any room.

A memorial service will be held on May 23, 1 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel with a reception to follow at Tiny's Tavern, 323 N. 24th St. in Billings. Services will be livestreamed at https://boxcast.tv/view/dale-wallaces-memorial-service-ckimgd82iu2fkt60jveb
