Carl was one of a kind , his ability to show compassion to the needy , respect to all of us who worked under his leadership and the love for his family was always known to all . Thank you to this gentle giant for creating a platform in the workplace to allow individuals to grow a bountiful career ! Your leadership was one to be recognized and duplicated by many of us ! The world is a better place because of you . You will be greatly missed .

I had the pleasure of working for Carl for 7 years at HRDC. I can say enough kind things about him. He was kind, intelligent, thoughtful and the least selfish person. He worked hard while caring for his wife. What a great place the world would be if more people were like Carl. The world won’t be the same without you. 🥀

Carl was a founder of the Montana Conservation Corps and I worked with Carl when he served on our board. He was such a special individual with his caring yet professional attitude. I enjoyed his humor and his ability to think big picture. He contributed so much to the Billings and the larger community of Montana. Thank you Carl, you will be missed.

My memories go back to the 1950's when my dad, Max Dalby, was the band director at Ogden High. He had nothing but good things to say about Carl's dad, what a good worker he was and a good friend too. At the same time, my dad gave Carl clarinet lessons and he was sometimes paid with rabbit meat instead of money. I thought it was amazing and a little scary. I am not surprised to read that Carl followed in his fathers footsteps as a kind and compassionate human being who worked hard to improve the lives of others. He had a good teacher.
