Our Angel

You were sweet as pie and our world has never shined so bright. You are and will always be our beacon of light to guide us through what can be such a dark world without you. Your smile was like a breath of fresh air on a warm spring day. We had the greatest honor of having you for a short time, but the memories will last us a lifetime.

Our sweet Angel, Amelia Elara Amos born June 20, 2023, at 5:37 pm, came into this world a tiny little girl at 5 lbs. 11oz, but man, did she come out a fighter.

She struggled from day 1, learning how to breathe on her own but after just a few days she persevered. She then fell ill with jaundice and every time Mom and Dad walked into the room, she lifted her whole body trying to get to us.

Then it wasn't too much longer that we had found out that she also had a heart murmur. One of our scariest moments was when the doctors told us she tested positive for a rare blood disorder MMA. Please don't ask us to pronounce the medical term for it. The things that we were told about it and the things we read about it were very scary. This diagnosis followed us out of the hospital, she had to get vitamin b-12 injections every week. But by the grace of God, she turned out to just be a carrier and had to watch it for when she had children of her own.

She spent nearly two weeks in the NICU. We were so thankful and felt like the luckiest mom and dad to finally bring her home. She had such a big personality at such a young age. You knew every emotion she was feeling. Her RBF was on point.

She loved to cuddle and talk, and you knew when she was mad or happy about something, she had a lot to say. But she sure let you know when she had had enough of people and just wanted alone time. She was truly a happy and content baby. She was every bit of a shock and joy to her parents when she was conceived, and she left a huge impression on everyone she met. Everybody loves her.

She was the most beautiful and patient baby and the most perfect mix of mom and dad; you never knew who she looked more like. There was never a dull moment with her. She loved her sleep. She did have a favorite stuffed animal and they were the best of friends. She had the most heart-melting smile and adorable little giggle. She only giggled a few times but when she did, it brightened our whole mood.

She suddenly passed away on her 4-month birthday on October 20, 2023.

She is survived by her mother Courtnay Louise Miller and her father Craig Joseph Amos, along with her grandparents and lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course, her furry siblings Ruckus and Sadie.

Our baby girl, you will be missed every day and have left us with an empty spot in our hearts, but we know you are guiding mommy and daddy every day and every step of the way. We feel you here and we see your signs. Your tiny little heartbeat still beats with ours every day.

We love you more than anything Amelia and we can't thank you enough for showing us a love that will never be patched. Rest in peace, baby girl.
