Clifford Schell

Cliff was born March 21, 1935 to Lenora (Yazell) Schell.  He grew up in Plevna, MT, where he spent his entire youth, joining the Navy in 1955.  Upon his honorable discharge he enrolled in barber school in Fort Worth, TX.  He married Kathleen Roby in 1958, soon moving to Billings where he opened his own shop - "The Baron" - moving locations several times over his 50+ years of barbering.  Dad was fastidious in his craft, cultivating numerous friendships throughout his career. He retired in 2008 at the age of 74.

Cliff and Kathy raised four children: Tenley (John) Slayton, Tammy (Jeff) Muri, Tara (Jeff) Butler, and Roche (Kathy) Schell.  He was additionally blessed with 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Cliff passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 90, following a brief illness.

Dad will be remembered for his many attributes, the most notable being:

       A well-respected barber

       A self-taught musician, playing the piano, accordian and guitar - all by ear

       A prolific golfer. He was a charter member of Pryor Creek Golf Club, claiming thousands of rounds of golf to his name. He had many accomplishments, including 6 holes-in-one (his most recent achieved on April 1, 2024)!

"Dad, you were deeply loved and will be missed by many.  You were the consummate gentleman, always meticulously dressed and groomed, kind and empathetic and, most importantly, you loved the Lord. You blessed us by example."
