Lora Wiedrick
September 09, 1937 - July 22, 2025
Obituary
Lora LaVern (Bauer) Wiedrick, 87, went to her heavenly home surrounded by family on July 22, 2025. Lora was born on September 9, 1937, to Otto and Ella (Brunmeier) Bauer in Hazen, ND. She was the 6th out of 12 children. At age 15, she met the love of her life, Arnold, and they were married that October in 1952. The two of them were inseparable. Traveling from state to state, they were blessed with 5 children: Debbie, Donna, Dixie, Dan, and Delinda. They finally landed in Billings, where Lora helped run the family owned laundromat, car wash, and eventually founded Wiedrick’s Crane Service.
Lora and Arnold enjoyed antiques and often attended farm auctions, hunting for "the diamonds in the rough". Lora was always so happy to show off the auction treasures they found together. Lora was incredibly passionate about her family and extended church family. Her faith was always in the forefront of her life. She was the glue that held her large family together, the matriarch who was always getting them together for holidays, especially her favorite holiday: Christmas. She delighted in watching the kids open their presents. Keeping her passion for her roots strong, Lora loved sharing her passion for making German dishes and passing recipes down to the younger generations. She and her family would fill her kitchen counters full of Fleischkuechle, Grautbrak, and Kuchen. A child at heart, Lora enjoyed chasing all the kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with the scariest, most ugly masks she could find. She sang songs, including old German songs she knew, rolled in the dirt, had the most extravagant tea parties, played alongside all of the children in the ditches, creeks, and mud. If there wasn't any family at the house (which was hardly ever), she enjoyed watching the Antiques Roadshow or the Curse of Oak Island on TV, and putting together her puzzles.
Lora was preceded in death by her father Otto and mother Ella, husband of over 70 years Arnold Wiedrick, 8 of her siblings, and son in law Bruce. She is survived by her children Debbie (Charlie) Weigal, Donna Wiedrick, Dixie Langlois, Dan (Sonia) Wiedrick, Delinda (Rich) Fredenburg, her eight grandchildren Angie, Becky, Tyler, Heather, Brandy (Mike), Justin, Britney (Brick), and Bridget, and her ten great grandchildren: Ryne, Aiden, Ean, Keegan, Kaleb, Koy, Emily, McKenzie, Leighton and Ripley.
The funeral will be held at Apostles Lutheran Church 3140 Broadwater Ave Billings, MT on August 2, 2025 at 11:00 am, followed by lunch. The Committal will be at Sunset Cemetery.

Lora already had her five children when I met her, but she welcomed me into the fold. We were living in Cody, WY then. I was best friends with her oldest daughter, Debbie. I would go to their house, not far from my house, and watch Outer Limits and eat ice cream. Then I would have to walk home in the dark with Lora hanging out the front door hollering after me, "Don't let the bogeyman get you!" She was always fun to be around. We didn't go to the same church but when I would stay overnight with Debbie on Saturday night I would go to church with them and afterwards to Sizzler! They never asked me to pay for my dinner. When I got older, I lived down the street from Lora and Arnold in Billings, MT. They would have Santa Christmas parties, and it was at their house that I saw my first aluminum Christmas tree with the color wheel slowly turning the tree different colors! My parents were quite a bit older than Lora and Arnold but my dad met Arnold on the job, and they became great friends and spent many hours playing cards together. Lora was a wonderful woman and mother. I was sad to see she passed away. ❤️
