Linda Boyd

Linda Sue Boyd, age 85 of Billings, MT, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025.  She was born on July 15, 1940, in Welch, WV.  

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Letcher Cobbs, her mother, Kathryn Baumgardner Cobbs, her prior husband, John Edward Boyd, and her son, John Thomas Boyd.  She is survived by her sister Rebecca Crockett, daughters Deborah Kathryn vonArx and Keli Anna Boyd-Smith; five grandchildren, Kristin vonArx, Kayla vonArx, Marlo Reed, Megan Reed, and Molly Orlowski; and six grandchildren.

Linda enjoyed a fulfilling life as a people greeter at Walmart, where her warm smile and kind spirit brightened the day of countless customers.  In her free time, she loved shopping, tending to her beautiful flowers, and traveling with her daughter, Keli.  She cherished the companionship of her dog, Cheyenne, and her cat, Houdini.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Wytheville, VA, where her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life.

Linda's zest for life, spirited personality and loving heart will be remembered always.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Cottages at St. Johns United in Billings, MT for their kindness, compassion, and excellent care during Linda's final days.
