Robert Hoover

Robert Hoover, 79, a resident of Billings, Montana, passed away on August 31, 2025, doing what he loved most, fishing.

“Bob,” as he was affectionately known, retired from the United States Navy after twenty years of dedicated and honorable service. Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman, an Ohio State Fan, and a collector of things. Bob loved to travel and traveled worldwide. He was missing only South America from having traveled to every continent, and had traveled to every state but Maine. He was an active member of the VFW and the American Legion. Mr. Hoover will forever be remembered as a loving husband and devoted friend.

Mr. Hoover is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Hattie Rowe Hoover, and several siblings.

Robert is survived by his wife, Judy Cohen, his daughter, several grandchildren, stepdaughter, Kimberly Alvarez, Stepson, David Bennett, step-grandchildren, Jared and Rachel Alvarez, and several brothers and sisters.

 Graveside Services with military honors will be held on September 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Yellowstone National Cemetery under the direction of Dahl Funeral Home. A reception will follow.
