Obituary

Marilyn Judith Stoddard, born May 3, 1938, passed away on September 25, 2025 in Billings, Montana. Marilyn was born to Americo and Grace Zaro in Pleaston, California. When Marilyn was 17, she decided to move to Billings, Montana with her husband, Ronald Stoddard. Finding home in Billings, she raised five children, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Marilyn was a bus driver for the City of Billings MET Buses. She worked with them for 33 years before retiring to help her family and help raise her first great grandchild. She loved to take her children on trips to Cooney Dam to fish, swim, and camp. Marilyn always encouraged her children and grandchildren to play outside and have as much fun as possible. She loved to host family at her house for every holiday where they would all celebrate and catch up. Her favorite way to support her family was by attending as many of their activities as she could.

She loved to watch movies and read books, specifically science fiction and fantasy ones. In the last years of her life, she binge watched Grimm everyday. She tended to her garden where she grew tomatoes and different types of flowers, the lilac bush still standing tall in her house. Marilyn was a fond lover of birds, her favorite being the hummingbird.

Marilyn’s children included Mary, James, Kent, Doug(Cherie), Chris(Shannon), and Holly(Tim).

Marilyn is survived by her children Mary, Kent, Chris(Shannon), and Holly(Tim); her grandchildren, Jordan, Tanya(Josh), Jesse(Stacy), Tyler, and Scott; and her great grandchildren Elizabeth, Blake, Hailee, Hannah, and Benson.

The family is planning to host a private celebration in the future.
