Adeline Adolph

Adeline (Klundt) Adolph peacefully went home into the loving arms of her Lord and her husband (Wilfred “Bill” Adolph) on Friday, October 3rd, in Phoenix, Arizona.  She was surrounded by the love of her family when she passed.

Adeline was a loving spouse, nurturing mother and devoted daughter.  Her deep faith and compassionate heart were the foundations of all of her relationships.

Adeline was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on January 30, 1935, to Bill and Renada Klundt.  Her family later moved to the Shepherd, Montana, farming community where Adeline attended school and graduated from Shepherd High School in 1953.  Although her dream was to become a school teacher, she entered the banking field until she married and started her family.  

While having dinner with her parents and neighbors, Adeline was introduced to the love of her life, Wilfred “Bill” Adolph.  These neighbors would eventually become family when they married.  Their courtship was put on hold temporarily when Bill was recalled to the Navy.  Upon his return, their relationship was rekindled and eventually they were married in Billings on June 4, 1955.  Bill worked as a Landman for Mobil Oil which took the young family to North Dakota, Wyoming, and eventually returning to Montana in 1969.  Returning to Montana resumed the close relationship Adeline had with her parents and allowed her three children to form the same close bond with their grandparents.  

She later returned to banking and eventually retired in July, 1992, as Assistant Branch Manager at Security Federal Savings & Loan.  Her kind spirit, strong work ethic and helpful nature earned her the admiration of both colleagues and customers.

Family was always the center of Adeline’s life.  She will be remembered for all of the holiday gatherings and her kitchen that always smelled of something delicious.  She was known for her love of baking and the sweet treats that were always in the oven.  She was a woman of quiet strength, unwavering faith and endless compassion.

Eventually, Bill and Adeline moved to Sun City, Arizona, where they enjoyed the warm winters, new friendships and treasured memories with children and grandchildren.

Adeline is survived by her family of three children, Cheryl Woods (Mike), Greg Adolph (Laura), Marla Metzger (Mark), seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens immediately following her memorial service. A Reception will follow the burial.
