Obituary

Susan May Locken Hodges, aged 50, passed away on November 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Billings, Montana, Susan grew up with a bright spirit and a gift for bringing joy wherever she went.

She graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1993 and went on to earn her LPN from Montana State University Billings. Always dedicated to learning and expanding her skills, Susan later received her real estate license as well as a medical coding certification from MSUB–City College. Her curiosity, determination, and compassion shaped every chapter of her life.

Susan loved family above all else. She found greatest pride in her children, Trevor and Kennedy Locken, and her cherished grandson, Isaiah, who brought her immeasurable joy.

Her home was a gathering place—filled with music, dancing, cooking, laughter, and the many crafts and creations she poured her heart into. Whether she was playing softball with her brother and sister or cheering for her other family members from the sidelines of a softball game, sharing a favorite song or entertaining friends with a good meal and laughter, Susan made every moment feel special.

She is survived by her children Trevor Locken and Kennedy Locken; her grandson Isaiah; her mother, LuAnn Paulson Barman; brothers Jerred Berns and Taylor Barman (Brianna); sisters April Berns and Leinani Hance. She has many nieces and nephews that will miss her greatly.

Susan is preceded in death by her brother Greg Locken Jr.; her stepfather Bryan Barman; her grandmother Trudy Paulson; and her grandfather Norman Paulson.

She will be remembered for her generosity, her creativity, her warm humor, and the love she freely gave. Susan touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. We could write pages and pages about the many ways she touched so many people.

We love and miss you with all our hearts. You were a true gift to us all.

May she now find the peace she so richly deserves.
