Joseph Carlson

Joseph Lewis Carlson (Joe), 80, passed at home on November 17, 2025, to the loving arms of our Lord. Born April 11, 1945, to Helmer and Betty Carlson.

He enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing with his boys and grandsons. He also loved shooting, playing golf, and poker.

He retired from the Post Office after 38 years and the army reserves after 26 years. He also worked for the Sheriff’s Department as a reservist.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Michael.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of 61 years. His sons, Mike (Nancy), Steve (Jen), Todd (Angie), his daughters, Wednesday and Teal, two grandsons, Mathew and Joey, Brother Frank (Marta), and four great-grandchildren. With deepest gratitude, I wanted to thank Hospice for the last 2.5 years, his grandson Mathew, when I called and said “White House Down”, he was right there to help his papa, and to our Angel Connie Rasmussen for her loving care of Joe and myself. “We Love You.”

Joe wished for donations to be made to the Loving Loic Foundation to help his great-nephew, Loic Blackford, age 5, who has a degenerative neurological disorder called PKAN. He needs gene therapy.
