Obituary

Randy “Rudy” Lusin, 70, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2026, at his home in Billings. He was born as the youngest son to Rudy and Dixie (Schoonover) Lusin in November 1955. He grew up in Fort Benton and graduated in 1974. While attending college in Havre he met the love of his life Cheryl Shores. They were married in 1979 and were blessed with a daughter and a son. They resided in Havre until their kids graduated before moving to Billings.

Randy and Cheryl were partners in everything their whole life. Most recently installing commercial wallpaper in hotels and businesses across Montana. They recently retired and were looking forward to travelling together. Besides being a devoted husband, he was a wonderful father and papa. He loved his grandchildren unconditionally and went to all their sporting events, rarely missing one in person and if missed he was watching them online. He also loved visiting with friends old and new and playing cribbage with his family.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Daniel. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Lusin of 46 years of Billings. Daughter Rachael (Brandon) Kerkes of Sand Coulee, son Ryan (Beth) Lusin of Billings, grandchildren Mollie and Mason Kerkes and Anna and Josie Lusin. Brothers Gary (Mary Jo) Lusin of Belgrade and Dennis (Diane) Lusin of Billings.

A Rosary is planned at 10:30 AM with a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM both to be held on Friday, February 6th at St Pius X Catholic Church in Billings with a reception to follow. Livestream is available at www.stpiusxblgs.org In lieu of flowers the family asks to please donate to your local Food Bank.

We got reacquainted with cousin Cheryl and Randy when he taught shop in Winnett. So glad we had that opportunity, he will be missed.

I was the Teller Supervisor at Stockman Bank on Shiloh for years but moved a couple years ago. I always enjoyed seeing Randy and Cheryl when they came by. Always had a good laugh and visit. Randy was a great person and will be missed by all. Prayers and hugs to Cheryl and the family. o. I always enjoyed seeingo.
