Obituary

Loreen Carol Reiter, age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 11, 2026, in Billings, Montana.

Loreen was born on February 25, 1939, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Harold and Linda Graff. She spent her early years in Mitchell before her family later relocated to Billings, where she would build much of her life and community.

She is survived by her siblings, Joanne and Robert (Bob), both of whom remain living. Loreen dedicated much of her professional life working as a cashier at Skaggs, where she was known for her kindness and strong work ethic.

On February 25, 1966 -her birthday- Loreen met Ron on a blind date, a meeting that would shape the rest of her life. Just a few months later, on May 7, 1966, the two were married. Loreen brought her children; Rod, Gregory, and Tami into the marriage, and her family remained the center of her world. She was a devoted mother who deeply valued time spent with her children.

Loreen had a gift for bringing people together. She loved playing games such as bridge and bunko with her friends from the Graduates Club and was especially known for her love of cooking. She took great care in preparing meals tailored specifically to her guests, reflecting her thoughtful and intentional nature.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Reiter; her siblings, Joanne Clark and Robert (Bob) Graff; her children, Tami Ahmadieh (Mashaa), Gregory Reiter, and Rod Reiter; and her grandchildren, Erin Flansburg (Bryan Flansburg), Isaac Schnitzer (Rachel Schnitzer), Caleb Reiter, Evan Reiter (Kylie), and Jake Reiter. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, including Lincoln Reiter, Canon Reiter, and several others who brought her great joy.

A celebration of Loreen's life will be held on May 9 at 1:00 PM at Dahl Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Boys and Girls Club and Tumbleweed.

Loreen will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the joy she brought to others. She especially loved singing her favorite song, "You Are My Sunshine," a reflection of the light she shared with those around her.
