Ericka Platt
September 25, 1971 - February 15, 2026
Obituary
It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of Ericka Ann Rose Platt, who left us on February 15, 2026, at the age of 54.
Some souls do not move through this world quietly. Fiercely protective, beautifully unapologetic, quick to laugh, and impossible to ignore — Ericka was one of them. Her love knew no boundaries, and in that love, we find our solace.
Ericka was born on September 25, 1971, to Richard Rose and Mary Ellen Reed. She spent her life in Colorado and Montana.
Ericka was the cherished mother of two sons - Timothy Contreraz, Jr. (1990) and Jonas Torres, Jr. (2005). Her boys were her heart, her greatest accomplishment, and her deepest joy. She also was a proud Nana to her three grandchildren, titles she carried like badges of honor.
Ericka had a special place in her heart for the outcasts – always offering compassion to the homeless, grace to the struggling, and dignity to those who the world rejected. She saw people for who they were beneath their burdens, and offered kindness where others turned away.
Her arms were always open - to her children, her grandchildren, and to those others would cast aside.
Ericka is preceded in death by her grandparents Tom & Eleanor Reed and Art & Marian Rose, as well as her uncle Mike Reed, cousin Robin Rose, brother Jonathan Honaker, and niece Abigail Honaker.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy Contreraz Jr. (Tori) and Jonas Torres Jr.; her mother, Mary Honaker; her father, Richard Rose (Deb); her sisters, Christi Rose and Lyndsay Honaker; her brother, Taylor Honaker (Tionna); her step-brothers, Jason Rose and Jeff Rose; her grandchildren, Ellie, Maceo, and Malix; her nieces and nephews, Evan, Elena, Kit, Eleanor, Avelyn, and Emilia; her aunt Kathy Souders (Alan); her uncles Randy Rose, Rod Rose, Rob Rose, and Rorie Rose; numerous cousins in the Rose and Reed families; and a wide and loyal circle of friends whose lives she touched in unforgettable ways.
Though Ericka has left this world, the love she poured into it remains — steady, fierce, and enduring – and will carry us through our moments of sorrow and joy.
Celebration of Life services for Ericka will be held at a later date. Details will be shared once they are finalized. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memoriam can be made to Family Promise Yellowstone Valley at www.familypromiseyv.org, 10 S. 26th Street, Billings, MT 59101.
