Jay Eyre

I knew Jay as we both hiked the AT in 2014, he was informally known as Cairn because he just did not care for them! My son hiked with us too and they had a great time talking about books and art. Jay sent me a watercolor of a mountain he often hiked in MT and I so wish I could have done that with him. Jay was kind, gentle, funny and a massively strong hiker. He would slow down to walk with me though so we could talk about life. I miss him already.

I remember Jay as a soft-spoken, gentle soul of a man. He was a genuine good guy.
