Jay Eyre

I'm at Jay when he was working at Wright's Custom Repair. I recently took an art class with him and he told me about the little free art gallery. I loved going up and putting things in the little gallery. I stop by today and that's when I found out Jay had passed away. I put some things in in his memory. I always enjoyed seeing him. He was a great guy.

I knew Jay as we both hiked the AT in 2014, he was informally known as Cairn because he just did not care for them! My son hiked with us too and they had a great time talking about books and art. Jay sent me a watercolor of a mountain he often hiked in MT and I so wish I could have done that with him. Jay was kind, gentle, funny and a massively strong hiker. He would slow down to walk with me though so we could talk about life. I miss him already.

I remember Jay as a soft-spoken, gentle soul of a man. He was a genuine good guy.
