Obituary

Charles Minden Visconti, known to most simply as Minden, passed away on April 10, 2026, in Billings, Montana, due to heart failure. He was 58 years old.

Minden was born on October 21, 1967, in Sheridan, Wyoming, and grew up with the kind of wide-open spirit that the West tends to put in people. He graduated from Buffalo High School in Buffalo, Wyoming, in 1986, and soon after set out to make his own way. He also had the chance to visit his grandfather in Milan, Italy, a trip that left a lasting impression on him.

In 1995, Minden moved back to Wyoming and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanine (Justice) Bowl. The two soon bought a home together in Billings, Montana, where Minden would put down roots for the rest of his life. After five years of marriage, Minden and Jeanine went their separate ways amicably, and the two remained close friends right up until the end. That said a lot about the kind of man he was.

Minden had a mind like a steel trap. His mental acuity was something people noticed right away, especially when it came to sports statistics and music. He could rattle off stats and deep cuts with equal ease, and he never missed a chance to tell a great story. He was quick-witted, genuinely funny, and always the guy who made a room better just by being in it. He loved tools and electronics, took real pride in landscaping and home improvement projects, and was a devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the New York Yankees. One of his favorite things to do was making fantasy football rosters and drawing up plays, which he was great at.

Beyond his personal passions, Minden gave back to his community through regular donations to the Billings Food Bank and the Montana Rescue Mission, among others. He believed in the Billings Good Bank, the Montana Rescue Mission, among others. He believed in helping where he could quietly and without fanfare.

Minden was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruggiero Visconti, Edith (Fairbanks) Simpson, and Kelly and Dixie Witzel, along with his mother, Teri (Witzel) Harmon, and his father John Warren Visconti. He is survived by his brother John Trenton Visconti, along with his stepbrothers and stepsisters, and many friends and loved ones who will carry his memory forward.

May he find peace and rest, and may his memory be a comfort to all who loved him. A celebration of life will be held in Buffalo, Wyoming, in July at a date yet to be determined. Details will be shared with family and friends as they are finalized.

As Minden might have appreciated, in the words of Frank Marino: “I live for today. I think I have to because, basically, that’s the only day you ever live.”
