Peter O'Loughlin

I was barely in high school when Pete came to Big Sandy as a Choteau County officer. He was such a caring and kind man. I have thought about him often over the years. My condolences to the O'Loughlin family.

Grandpa was a humble and meek man. One memory from September 2024 has stayed with me. My three-year-old daughter, Evie, had climbed up a dirt hill near the driveway and wasn't listening when he tried to get her to come down. Grandpa went up after her and carried her down himself. On the way down, he slipped and fell, hitting his head on a rock badly enough that he needed to go to the hospital. Evie wasn't hurt. Grandpa was. That simple fact has always stayed with me. "No greater love has a man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)
