Jacob Morris

Jacob Orville Morris, known to some as Jake Spoon, passed away on June 11, 2026, at Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana, due to complications of heart failure. He was 53 years old.

Jake was born on January 2, 1973, in Harlowton, Montana, to Jean Drinkwalter and Ben Morris. Throughout his childhood, he attended schools in Fairfield, Bitterroot, and Castle Rock before graduating from Skyview High School in 1991.

Following graduation, Jake proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He served four years before receiving an honorable discharge. He later continued his commitment to service through the Montana National Guard, serving in both Helena and Bozeman.

In 1996, Jake married Sharon Martinez. Together they welcomed their son, Omri Morris, in 1997. The couple later divorced in 2002. In 2003, Jake married April Morales, and together they welcomed their daughter, Lilly Morris, in 2006. The couple later divorced in 2008.

Jake was truly a jack of all trades. He possessed a strong work ethic and a wide range of talents, spending much of his life working in construction while also developing skills in computers and locksmithing. He was known for his ability to fix almost anything and for always being willing to lend a helping hand when someone needed it.

Jake will be remembered for his service, his hardworking nature, his resourcefulness, and the love he had for his family. He was always bringing fun and laughter to everyone in the room when he was present. Jake was always a cowboy, he loved rodeos, dancing, bow hunting, and fishing. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his father, Ben Morris, and stepmother, Norma Morris; his son, Omri Morris; his daughter, Lilly Morris; his brothers, Kenny Morris, Max Drinkwalter, Ryan Drinkwalter, and Rob Haworth; his sisters, Patty Reynard, Kristy Taylor, Darcy Coston, and Darla Sanford; his aunt, Rae Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jake’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time.
