Harold Bohrer

Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, Harold Glenn Bohrer was taken into his Father’s arms in Heaven on September 3, 2026.  Harold was born on October 5, 1935, to Floyd and Esther (Lyden) Bohrer.  He grew up on the family farm in Iowa with his two brothers and two sisters.

Harold moved to Billings from Iowa, and on one fateful night, he spotted a beautiful lady from Park City named Lila across the roller rink.  Harold and Lila were married on September 15, 1958.  They settled in Billings, Montana, and were blessed with four children.

Harold is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, parents, brothers Donald and Ivan, and sister Marjorie.  He is survived by his sister Dorothy; children Joel (Terri), Stephanie (Jeff Steingraber), Todd, and Troy (Amy).  Also surviving him are his grandchildren who he loved so very much: Jacob, Jessica, Tiana, Jordan, Sam, Brynn and Emma, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man who cared deeply for those he loved. He was hardworking throughout his life, with a career that included Texaco, Firestone, and General Tire, as well as delivering newspapers. He also proudly served in the National Guard.  He was a landlord and was known by his tenants as the kind of landlord anyone would be lucky to have.  In his free time, he loved hunting for treasures at garage sales and had a special appreciation for antiques. He especially enjoyed the art of bargaining and the satisfaction of walking away with a great deal. For him, getting the price down was often half the fun. Those who knew him will remember his hardworking nature, his love for a bargain, and, most importantly, the love and devotion he had for his family.

There are no words that can express the loss we feel at his passing.  We will forever miss his loving heart and playful spirit.  We love you and “we’ll see you later, when your legs are straighter.”  “Bye, Bye and Buy Bonds!”

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on, September 7, 2026, at Dahl Funeral Chapel.  The interment will be held the following day, September 8, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Employee’s Christmas Fund at Westpark Village at 2351 Solomon Avenue, Billings, Montana, 59102.
