Gary Bachman

Gary Herman Bachman, 65, passed away on October 6, 2026 at Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, Montana. He was born on March 17, 1961 in Dearborn, Michigan to Gordon J. and Gayle P. Bachman.

Gary was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan. He graduated from Edsel Ford High School with the class of 1979. He worked for many years at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, and then moved to Bozeman in 1999, beginning a career with a Brick and Masonry crew there.

Gary had a strong love for the outdoors. Camping and fishing in the mountains was his favorite thing to do. He loved to camp on the river and enjoy his morning coffee while bird watching and cooking trout over the campfire.

The trout in Hyalite Canyon are much safer now.

He loved to call Bozeman his home and enjoyed being so close to the mountains. Gary was involved with Hope Lutheran Church and their bible study group. He volunteered at several different places throughout the years: helping the needy, assisting with the soup kitchen, and working at the rehabilitation house on Tayabeshockup Road.

Gary loved the simple things in life: sunrises, full moons, and celestial stars.

He was preceded in death by his father Gordon J. Bachman and his mother Gayle P. Bachman.

He is survived by his brother Gregg (Cyndi) Bachman of Gregory, Michigan.
