Kerry Kunnemann

Kerry Wayne Kunnemann, 68, passed away at his home in Billings, Montana, on October 10, 2026. He was born on May 9, 1958, in Imperial, Nebraska, to Delbert and Bernice Kunnemann.

Kerry had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time snowmobiling and four-wheeling with friends and family. In his younger years, he enjoyed the excitement of racing snowmobiles and motorcycles. These hobbies reflected his adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors.

Kerry spent many years working for Sony Corporation, building a career that took him across the country and allowed him to work with a wide variety of specialized technology. While living in San Jose, California, he worked as a repair technician for Sony, servicing a wide range of Sony products.

He later moved to Castle Rock, Colorado, where he worked on equipment that Hughes Corporation had purchased from Sony. His work included installing and repairing equipment used by DIRECTV to broadcast movies via satellite. From there, Kerry moved to Bentonville, Arkansas, where he continued working with Sony equipment under a contract with Walmart, repairing and programming equipment purchased by the retailer.

After retiring and moving to Billings, Montana, Kerry was approached by Wachter to install digital equipment in IMAX theaters. This opportunity took him traveling throughout the United States, installing equipment in theaters across the country. After enjoying retirement for a time, Kerry returned to work at a local Yamaha dealership, where he managed the parts department for several years.

Throughout his career, Kerry demonstrated a strong technical ability and a willingness to take on new challenges. His work carried him to many places, and he continued to share his knowledge and skills well into his retirement years.

Kerry was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Kunnemann, and his great-niece, Nevaeh.

He is survived by his mother, Bernice Kunnemann; his brothers, Kimard Kunnemann of Billings and Kon (Winny) Kunnemann of Billings; and his sister, Kammy (Scott) Perdew of Billings.

He is also survived by his nieces, Chandra Kunnemann-Siim, Chelsey (Dan) Stauch, Collette (Andrew) Smith, Kristin (Nate) Richert, Kandace (Schyler) Bryan, and Gesina (Boris) Null; his nephew, Kaleb (Kelsey) Perdew.  Great-nieces and nephews Valen, Eve, Collin, Eleanor, Jayden, Amilya, Phaydra, Konnor, Karley, Kelsey, Luther, Kersey, Sylvie and Milosh.
