Obdulio Salazar-Ibarria, lovingly known as “Lulo,” passed away on October 16, 2026, in Billings, Montana, at the age of 68. He was born on March 14, 1958, in San Martín de Bolaños, Jalisco, Mexico, to Obdulio Salazar Lopez and Victoria Ibarria Lopez.

Throughout his life, Lulo made his home in San Martín de Bolaños, Phoenix, Arizona, Wyoming, and Billings, Montana. Wherever life took him, he carried his roots, traditions, and love for his family with him.

Obdulio was a hardworking man who worked at Willys Gullermo, was self-employed, and carried his tradition on at La Soledad and later on cooked right next to his brother luis at Don luis Restaurant where he met many people that cared and loved him and he grew a second family their with friends and later worked at Lowe’s as a janior. He took pride in working hard and cooking the things his family loved and also enjoyed spending his time doing the things he loved most. He found happiness in the ranch, harvesting corn, caring for his cows, and cooking for those around him. He enjoyed going to Mexico every August to go to the mexican fiestas, he loved watching Mexican movies, and attending Sunday church services on television. These simple pleasures brought him comfort and joy, but nothing meant more to him than being surrounded by his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Above all, Lulo cherished his family/friends. His love for his children and grandchildren was an important part of his life, and the time he spent with them created memories that will be treasured forever. His presence, traditions, and the moments shared together will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Obdulio is survived by his daughters, Mayra Mayorga and Victoria Salazar Garcia; his sons, Victor Salazar Garcia and Obdulio Ricardo Salazar; his eight grandchildren who will forever carry his love for him and legacy.

Lulo's life was one of hard work, family, tradition, and love. From the ranch and the fields to family gatherings and quiet Sundays at home, he found meaning in the things that mattered most. Though his passing leaves a deep sadness in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, his memory will remain alive through the stories shared, the traditions continued, and the generations of family he leaves behind.

He will be deeply be missed and forever loved. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his family and friends find comfort in the beautiful memories they shared with him.
