Obituary

Robert Harold Prigge, known to family and friends as “Bob” or “Butch,” passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born on August 14, 1948, in Missoula, Montana, to Robert L. and Lenore Rose (McGreevey) Prigge.

Bob graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Montana in 1973, followed by a Master of Laws in Taxation from Boston University in 1974. Bob practiced law in Billings, Montana, specializing in tax law.

With his first wife, Donna (Wilkening) Prigge, Bob had four children: Justin Prigge, Jason Prigge, Leigha Hession, and Jonathan Prigge. He was grandfather to Dashen Prigge, Olivia Hession, and Benjamin Hession. He is also survived by his sister, Patty Corette, and his brother, Richard Prigge.

Bob was a kind and loving father whose guidance and support meant so much to his children. He worked hard to provide for his family and give his children opportunities for a successful future. He was someone they could always count on, teaching them the importance of hard work and integrity through his own example. Beyond his family, Bob earned the respect of his many friends, clients, and colleagues.

Bob and his wife, Cindy Prigge, were together for 26 years. They were best friends who shared a deep love for one another, and Cindy cared for him with compassion and devotion throughout his illness.

Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bird hunting, but it was his legendary sense of humor that people remembered most. A gifted joke teller, he could make a whole room laugh. People loved being in his company, knowing a good story and a hearty laugh were never far away.

The family plans to hold a celebration of Bob’s life in spring 2027. Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.

The family invites those who knew Bob to share a favorite story or memory at prigge.memorial@gmail.com. Those wishing to honor his life may consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
