Frances Colgrove

Frances “Fran” M. Colgrove, after 92 years here on earth, was gently taken to heaven to be with the Lord on December 7, 2019. Fran was born in Ashland, WI where she resided for 40 years before moving to the mountains of Montana where she spent the past 52 years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral in Billings, MT and was a longtime contributor to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Fran worked at The Crystal Lounge in Billings for many years until her retirement. Fran was very dedicated to her work and those she served. She truly enjoyed living in her little cottage and tending to her flower gardens as well as fishing. She loved country music and was a phenomenal country singer herself, including being able to yodel with the best of them. She is survived by four children, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Ekholm, her son, Larry, a grandson, John Patrick and her 10 siblings. We want to thank all of Mom's friends who loved and cared for her. There are so many of you and we wish we could thank all of you individually, you know who you are, and our heart-felt gratitude goes out to you. A special thank you to Charles, who was a devoted friend of our mothers and so supportive to us. To all who knew, loved, and showed kindness to our mother, may The Lord bless you all beyond measure. At the request of our mother, no funeral will be held but we will have a private family memorial at a later date.
