Obituary
Alice Connolly died on October 15, 2013. She was born on her father's birthday at the family home in Billings, Montana on June 3, 1922. Alice attended Fratt School for 8 years and graduated from Billings High School in 1940. After graduation she went to work at Connolly Saddlery, the family business. She retired after 40 years. In 2008 Allie moved to St. John's Lutheran Home where she had the opportunity to visit with some of her customers from her Connolly Saddlery days. Allie was an active member of Holy Rosary Church before moving to St. John's Lutheran Home. During her lifetime she enjoyed skiing, ice skating, swimming, bowling and golfing. Alice was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Margaret Connolly, her sister Catherine and brother-in-law Chuck Harris and her brother John and his wife Muriel. Her surviving relatives are nieces, Patty (Bill) Downham, Kathy (Denny) Renier, Betty (Jim) Petek, Mary Connolly, Colleen (Don) Dockery, Barbara (Marc) Jones; nephews, Pat (Rose)Connolly, Michael Connolly, Dan (Lisa) Connolly; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her dear childhood friend, Gladys Houser. Service: A viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Monday at Dahl Funeral Chapel with Funeral Mass at Holy Rosary Church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

I have fond memories of going in to Connally's as a kid in the 60's and 70's. Allie always remembered my name (and I am sure all regular customers). Made me feel so special. Merchants like Allie Connally made shopping special, nothing like it is today. She was a gem!

Many great memories exist from my "Connolly Saddlery Days" but none are more vivid and warm than those of Allie's remarkable uplifting and generous spirit. Allie could always brighten my day just by being her always upbeat and happy self. Surely the gates of heaven were just a little brighter as she walked through.

Allie's mother Margaret and my mom's mother, Cathy Ambrose Ackerlind, were sisters. Allie and I corresponded regularly and I always admired her positive attitude. She really loved her family and always mentioned them in her letters. My thoughts and prayers are with all of my relatives out in Billings. She was a wonderful lady.
