Obituary

Mardelle Joan (McGee) Considine was born August 14, 1943, in Bowman, ND to Morrell and Marjorie (Anderson) McGee. Mardelle was raised on a farm where her parents instilled in her the value of good work ethics and the love for animals. She received most of her education in Bowman, ND. One year was spent in a country school in Bowman County where her mother taught her in second grade. Her mother was her favorite teacher. She graduated from Bowman High School and attended the National School of Business in Rapid City, SD. Mardelle was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and later played for Church and taught Sunday School. Mardelle married Russell Seymanski and they had two daughters: Brenda Ann and Deena Marie. They later divorced. Mardelle then met and married her best friend and soul mate, Leo Considine. They have one son, William Morrell Considine. Mardelle began her legal career in Bowman, ND, and continued it upon moving to Billings, MT. She spent most of her life working in the legal field; the last 24 years of her working career were spent working for the Montana Supreme Court as a Judicial Assistant for the Thirteenth Judicial District, a job she truly loved. She eventually worked for 5 Judges: Hon. William Spear, Hon. Diane G. Barz, Hon. Ingrid Gustafson, Hon. Todd Baugh, and the Hon. Rodney Souza. In November 2016, Judge Rod Souza nominated Mardelle and she was awarded a Judicial Branch Employee Recognition award from Chief Justice Mike McGrath at the Supreme Court in Helena, MT, an award she was very humbled to receive. Throughout her Judicial Assistant career, she became very good friends with many members of the Yellowstone Bar Association. Leo was a very successful insurance broker, and through his awards and recognition, they were able to do a lot of traveling throughout the US, Europe, China, Caribbean and Hawaii - with their favorite places being Hawaii and Ireland. Mardelle also travelled with her mother to Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Another favorite trip was to London and Paris with her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Sally. And - we can't forget the trip to Nashville with her daughters, Brenda and Deena. They had the privilege of attending 2 great concerts, the Grand Ole' Opry, plus many hours of listening to good country music. Mardelle's hobbies included scrap booking and family genealogy. She researched 3 sides of her family and co-researched with a cousin on one other side. She was able to get pictures of family members which she put with the family history and many booklets were made for family members. She found and made contact with the McGee side of the family in Ottawa, Canada, where ancestors had settled after immigrating from Ireland. Leo, Mardelle, and 11 other McGee family members travelled to Ottawa and met many McGee relatives and were able to tour and see where their ancestors worked, lived, attended Church and were buried. Anybody who knew Mardelle knew she had many collections including Beanie Babies and dolls - both of which Judge Barz started her on. They had many fun hours of researching and collecting. Even though Billings was home to Mardelle, she still had deeply embedded roots for her home country - Bowman and Rhame, ND. She really enjoyed going "back home" to visit with relatives and friends, and making quick trips to the McGee and Braaten ranches. Family was an important part of her life. Predeceasing Mardelle were her husband, Leo, her parents, Morrell and Margie McGee, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law William and Ethel Considine; Grandparents Gilbert and Minnie Anderson and Ivan and Frances McGee; step-son Gary Considine, several aunts, uncles and many cousins from both the McGee and Anderson families. Surviving Mardelle are her cherished children and spouses - Brenda (Tim) Johnson, Deena (Brian) Stolp, and William (Sally) Considine; sister Nola Braaten, nieces Carly (Mike) Gerrard, Heather (Michael) Ripley and nephew Dusty (Erika) Braaten; grandsons Travis and Tyler Johnson, uncles and aunts Patsy (Marvin) Braaten, Ivan, Jr. (Theresa) McGee, Betty McGee and Larry Trainor, plus many cousins from both the McGee and Anderson families. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Caroline (Steve) Reis and Marcia Weaver; step-son Doug (Laurie) Considine and step-daughter Kelly (Shawna) Considine. Mardelle also leaves behind a host of very dear and close friends plus her beloved Golden Doodle, Cody, and Golden Retriever, Sammie. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Sunday, 11/19/17, at 1PM at St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman, ND. Father Paul Eberle will celebrate the mass. Burial to follow at the Bowman Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, 11/18/17, from 9AM - 9PM at the Krebsbach/Kulseth Funeral Services in Bowman, ND. Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, 11/21/17, from 4PM - 7PM, at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings, MT. Memories may be shared at www.dahlfuneralchapel.com

Dear Family of Mardelle: We were saddened to hear the news of Mardelle's passing. We had known one another for many years, including living in the same Mobile Home Court on Lake Elmo Road in the "Early Days" when all our kids were very young. Mardelle was a good lady and a great friend. Please know we are thinking of you and sending you our deepest sympathy. Doug and Teri Zook

My sympathies to the family. I've known Mardelle almost as long as I've been a lawyer. She always had a kind word for a confused lawyer! She will be much missed.

I loved talking to Mardelle and especially enjoyed hearing about her trips. She always knew how to make a person feel special and was genuinely interested in what I was doing. My thoughts are with all of her family and with all of the great friends that she had at the Courthouse that are going to miss her and her friendship and their weekly lunches and her beautiful smile.

Mardelle was such beautiful lady in so many ways. She was a good friend. A loving mother and wife. She loved her family more than anything. We were close friends for so many years and it was especially fun when she started working at the courthouse and we could see more of each other. She always had a quick wit about her and I just loved it because she made me laugh at some of the dumbest things Unfortunately, I moved away and we lost contact. My heart and my prayers are with all her family.. she will be deeply missed
