Margie Coulter

Margie E. Coulter, 80, of Sheridan, Wyoming, formerly of Billings, Montana, passed away December 8, 2013, in Sheridan. She was born September 27, 1933 in Stanford, Montana, the daughter of Martin and Margaret (Hegg) Gillette. Martin worked for the railroad in northern Montana and they eventually moved to Billings where Margie graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1951. Margie worked as a teller for Bank of America in Long Beach, California. She then met John Coulter and they were married in Long Beach at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church on December 31, 1955. In 1956, Mike was born in the Navy hospital in Coronado, California. As John was out at sea, Margie and Mike returned to Billings and stayed with her mom. A few months later, John was discharged from the Navy. He then joined them in Billings shortly thereafter, Margie then began working at Security Bank. In 1957, Mark was born. She went to work in the accounting department at Hennessey's Department Store until she retired in 1990. John and Margie spent their winters in Yuma, AZ and summers in Billings. They were members of St. Pius X Catholic Church for 40 years. Margie enjoyed traveling and was a collector of coffee cups, shot glasses and thimbles. Her home was always open to everyone, but she really had a soft spot in her heart for children. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone and always had such a positive attitude. Those close to her will always remember her love and kindness. Margie is survived by her husband, John; sons Mike (Shirley) Coulter and Mark Coulter, all of Sheridan; brothers Leroy Gillette, Pat Gillette, and Bobby Wallace, all of Montana; two grandchildren, Sarah Coulter of Reno, Nevada, and Nicholas Coulter of San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Coulter, and sister, Diane Guptill. Cemetery: Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Service: Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Dahl Funeral Chapel.
