Dennis Cox

Dennis, 63, succumbed to the physical challenges of Down Syndrome December 13, 2012. The second and favorite son of Redmond and Monette Cox, he was born August 27, 1949. Turning lemons into lemonade, nearly everyone who came in contact with Dennis never got him out of their hearts. No matter whether they met him at the Boulder River Training School, Norris Court or Stillwater Group Homes, BTI or Eagle Cliff Manor; everyone has a loving story about Dennis. Dennis loved animals, especially horses and always wore cowboy boots and hat. He wasn't alone at Boulder, his black Shetland mare 'Candy' was there too. If there was a cart, wagon, buggy, or stagecoach rolling; Dennis was in it and heaven help the poor fool who touched any of his stick horses. He never cared much for TV; music got his attention, rock & roll or country, something he could 'dance' to. Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Redmond, and brother John. He is survived by his mother, Monette and other brother Christopher (Barb), nephews: Schaun (Mychal), SSG Kevin (Dani) currently stationed in Afghanistan, nieces: Rachel (Kevin) Sim and Katelyn (Chad) Christian, 3 great nephews and 6 great nieces and tons of cousins from coast to coast and even Australia. Cemetery: Sunset Memorial Gardens following the service.
