We are so sad at the loss of Robert. He was our neighbor and we had the priveldge of watching him walk the neighborhood multiple times daily with Ranger. It got be such an exciting sight my children would yell RANGER DOG and head outside to pet him as Robert chatted with them about their day. My kids would venture down to his house and he was always giving them Oreos, strawberries freshly picked and little treats. He was so kind. They remember him helping them get their bikes unstuck when they rode down there. He sure made and impact on my little people. He always had a smile on and such stories to tell. He was a light in our neighborhood. Our hearts are broken over his passing. Our prayers go out to the family as they walk through this season of loss. What a wonderfully amazing man Robert was.

I last visited with Robert in late August. We became friends as neighbors and then realized we had much in common-even shared a birthday date. I have never met anyone who loved this country as deeply as he did to the end. We shared a beer that warm August afternoon and his future he shared as well. A warm hand shake and a hug. I shed a tear as I drove away as I knew I had probably met with my friend for the last time on this planet. God bless you Robert and thank you for your friendship. Jerry Arthun

I knew you at Ben Lomond High School back in the day 1966. Three of us joined the Army in 1968 and went to Vietnam. You run around with my brother sometimes. I meet you Wallys Bar on 2nd street, in Ogden Utah. You had the uniform on, Army greens back then. You were telling the stories of things happening in Vietnam, think Kunz, Clawson was there and a few otherrs. Old man Kunz came over and had a beer. I want to thank you for serving the country in times were nobody like us. I hope and pray you family is well. You served us well in this country. Thanks for giving of yourself to other. My husband served with Captain Dean in Vietnam. He was revered by his men and a true hero. When my husband passed away in 2017, Robert send a beautiful floral tribute to his funeral. We had exchanged Christmas cards over the years and they were always signed Robert and Ranger. A true loss of a great man. Susan Oleson
